About the Program

📘 Program: Intermediate Intensive Program

👶 Suitable Age Group:

Children aged 7 years and above with sensory processing challenges, limited speech, or who are non-verbal, and require continued therapeutic and functional learning support

🏫 Setting:

  • Small group setting with a strong focus on sensory integration and functional development

  • Led by experienced special educators and certified occupational therapists

  • Designed for children who have aged out of EIP but still require intensive, structured support

👩‍🏫 Teacher-to-Student Ratio:

1:3 or 1:4, depending on level of need — ensuring close guidance in both therapy and learning

🎯 Focus Areas / Domains:

This program is structured to support children with complex needs in a group-based environment while still receiving targeted interventions:

  • Group-Based Occupational Therapy (sensory integration, body awareness, self-regulation)

  • Functional Academics (basic literacy, numeracy, life-based learning such as money use, time, and routines)

  • Social Communication Skills (gestures, AAC, turn-taking, structured peer interaction)

  • Social Behaviour Support (emotional expression, behaviour regulation, following group norms)

  • Alternative Communication strategies for children with limited or no verbal language

🎯 Program Goal:

To provide a safe, structured, and empowering space for older children with ongoing developmental needs to gain independence, functional life skills, and meaningful communication abilities — while continuing therapeutic growth in a group setting.
