About the Program
📘 Program: Intermediate Intensive Program
👶 Suitable Age Group:
Children aged 7 years and above with sensory processing challenges, limited speech, or who are non-verbal, and require continued therapeutic and functional learning support
🏫 Setting:
Small group setting with a strong focus on sensory integration and functional development
Led by experienced special educators and certified occupational therapists
Designed for children who have aged out of EIP but still require intensive, structured support
👩🏫 Teacher-to-Student Ratio:
1:3 or 1:4, depending on level of need — ensuring close guidance in both therapy and learning
🎯 Focus Areas / Domains:
This program is structured to support children with complex needs in a group-based environment while still receiving targeted interventions:
Group-Based Occupational Therapy (sensory integration, body awareness, self-regulation)
Functional Academics (basic literacy, numeracy, life-based learning such as money use, time, and routines)
Social Communication Skills (gestures, AAC, turn-taking, structured peer interaction)
Social Behaviour Support (emotional expression, behaviour regulation, following group norms)
Alternative Communication strategies for children with limited or no verbal language
🎯 Program Goal:
To provide a safe, structured, and empowering space for older children with ongoing developmental needs to gain independence, functional life skills, and meaningful communication abilities — while continuing therapeutic growth in a group setting.
