About the Program
📘 Program: Prevocational Program
👶 Suitable Age Group:
Youth aged 10 years and above who are transitioning from academic learning to functional, real-life skill development, particularly those not suited for mainstream academic pathways
🏫 Setting:
A structured, hands-on learning environment focused on practical routines and work-readiness
Tailored to students with special needs requiring extended support in independence and daily life functioning
👩🏫 Instructor-to-Student Ratio:
1:3 to 1:5, allowing for targeted support while encouraging independence
🎯 Focus Areas / Domains:
The Prevocational Program equips students with the skills needed for daily life and future employment, including:
Adaptive Daily Living Skills (ADL):
Personal hygiene, grooming, food prep, and cleaning routines
Time management and organisation
Life Skills / Work Skills Training:
Packing, sorting, labeling, following multi-step instructions
Workplace etiquette and responsibility
Functional Academics:
Reading signs, counting money, telling time, basic math and literacy in context
Entrepreneurship Exposure:
Hands-on activities like baking, crafts, and simple product selling
Understanding value exchange, teamwork, and basic business concepts
🎯 Program Goal:
To prepare neurodivergent youth with real-world skills, confidence, and independence to thrive in daily routines, community engagement, and potentially supported employment or micro-enterprise opportunities.

Atirah leads with experience and empathy. As Head Teacher at Hi 5 SEN Balakong, she designs and delivers engaging learning experiences while supporting her team to bring out the best in every student.
