Hi 5 SEN x Apple Green Hippotherapy – More Than Just a Horse Ride

Last week, Hi 5 SEN took our children on a very special field trip to Apple Green Hippotherapy. It was an exciting day filled with new experiences, and we were so happy to see the children step out of the classroom and into something completely different.

At Apple Green, the children had the chance to ride horses in a safe and cheerful environment. For children with special needs, an experience like this is more than just a recreational activity. Being close to the horses and feeling their gentle movement gives children the opportunity to explore their senses, build confidence and enjoy a new kind of connection. Seeing their smiles and reactions as they spent time with the horses was a truly meaningful moment for our team.

During the horse riding sessions, our teachers also ran sensory activities for the children, which helped them a little along the way. Activities like these give children different ways to experience the world around them, and every child took part at their own pace.

At Hi 5 SEN, we believe that learning does not stop at the classroom door. Experiences outside, like this field trip, help support the children's development while creating happy memories for them, their families and our teachers.
